A stunning report has demonstrated that up to 17 infants and four pregnant young people have been protected by the NSCDC agents in Imo State from a halfway house home purportedly being utilized as an infant manufacturing plant.
The State Commandant, Pedro Idiba, who talked with newsmen in Owerri on Friday, said the order, following up on a tip-off, raged the halfway house home, known as Jehovah Jireh, situated at Orlu in Orlu Nearby Government Range of the state at around 9.30am on Thursday, last week.Idiba gave the names of the high school young ladies as Onyedikachi Obialor, Oluchi Uzoma, Trust Ndukwu and Ogechi Njoku, including that a two weeks old infant, having a place with one Kasarachi, was among the children protected from the assumed shelter home.He clarified that his men revealed a 2007 lapsed permit of the halfway house home, asserted to have been possessed by a Neighborhood Government staff part in Orlu, known as Cecelia Egemole.
He said: "The spot was utilized as both maternity and other thing as affirmed by the young ladies we saw there; it was an undesirable domain.
The young ladies are adolescents, the most seasoned among them is 19."Also, a babysitter, said to be a senior sister to the proprietress, Mrs Felicia Egemole, admitted that a young ladies' percentage went to the halfway house home to convey their infants and abandoned them.
