ASUU kicks as crisis looms in Universities over lecturers’ pay-cuts

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Abuja zone, has expressed its concern over the failure of the Federal Government, to stop the unilateral drastic cut in the personal costs of allocations to Federal Universities in the country.

The Abuja Zone of the union, is made up of University of Abuja, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Nasarawa State University, Keffi Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai and Federal University, Lafia.

In a statement sent to us and signed by the Zonal Coordinator of the zone, Dr. Theophilus Lagi, the FG began these deductions in December 2015 and, “it has become a pattern employed by FGN to debilitate the workers movement in the country, especially ASUU”.

ASUU, however, warned that, “this singular action of the FGN is a recipe for the death of public university education in Nigeria. This implies that the masses shall no longer have access to university education in Nigeria and therefore, Nigeria shall continue to be under-developed.”

Lagi then added that the solution, is for the FG to ensure the release of full personnel costs including arrears.

He said: “World over, salary is sacrosanct and payment of full salary (including all earned allowances) is the lubricant of the wheels of industrial harmony within the university establishment.

“ASUU insists that her members have rendered their duties in full (100%) and as such, they should have their salaries and allowances paid in full and not in percentages or decimals.

“It is on this note that ASUU unequivocally demand an immediate restoration of releases of the full personnel costs (including arrears thereof) to all Federal Universities in Nigeria, in order to forestall the infliction of consequential damage to public university education in Nigeria.”

Paul Psquare Voices Out That: Nigerians Will Always Complain No Matter What You Do [Check out]

Paul Okoye

Singer, Paul Okoye, has lamented that Nigerians cannot be pleased even when one offers help to them.

He said Nigerians are not always satisfied, stating that they call one stingy ”when you give in silence and also call you ‘show off’ when you give in public.”

According to him, he does not care what anyone thinks because they will still complain no matter what one does.

He further urged Nigerians to stop hateful comments and discouraging words against people on social media.

On his Instagram page @rudeboypsquare, he wrote: “You help someone today, they call you show off, you help in silence, they call you stingy. #onlyinnaija

To an extent even when people need serious help, going public seeking for help or trying to raise fund, u will still hear some people saying “must they go public” mehhnnn ….. I taya!

“Yes I know some will say your reward is in heaven but then must you kill and discourage while we are on earth!

“I’m sure as am typing these words now; some English teachers are checking my grammar that’s the life we live in.

“Have a great week all, I don’t care what you think.”

Kiss Daniel Finally Openly Disclose The Type Of Woman That Gives Him Happiness [Check Out]

For those of you ladies falling for Kiss Daniel and his fine face,if you wanna be his woman,you've got to possess this qualities;

"I like ambitious women who are intelligent, can think for themselves and envisage the future. There are some women that can tell you a lot of ways to properly spend and invest N10m and you would be amazed. That is the type of lady I want, a woman who can drown you in her thoughts. I don’t want the type of woman that would only think about how to twerk and spend your money. I like twerking and I’m not saying it’s bad but when it comes to choosing the woman I would live with for the rest of my life, I think intelligence is more important. There will come a time when ladies would not be able to twerk again because of old age."

Come to think of it, if the woman come get all this qualities and she no fine, Shey Kiss go still like her????

You are worse in your own space of governance- Senator Shehu Sani reacts to El-Rufai's controversial memo to Pres Buhari

Senator Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the senate, has reacted to the controversial memo governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state sent to President Buhari in September last year, where he listed some of the faults of the Buhari-led administration.

El-Rufai in his letter pointed out that Presidnet Buhari had failed to deliver the mundane benefits of governance to the common Nigerian

Reacting to El-Rufai's memo, Sani who is one of the governor's major opponents, described the memo as dubious. He pointed out that El-Rufai is worse in his own space of governance and so has no justification to advise President Buhari on how to govern the country. Speaking to journalists in ABuja, Sani said

“The governor is entitled to his own opinion and perception but the contradiction and irony of it are basically two: first is that he accused me of being disloyal and disrespectful to the President and the party for speaking out my mind; And now he has done his own cunningly by criticising the President and the party, disguised it as a memo and leaked it out to the press; that also qualified him as disloyal and disrespectful. The difference is that mine is blunt while his is dubious. Secondly, for all the issues he raised against the President, his own is worse in his space of governance, whether it’s the existence of cabal or politics of exclusion or incompetence or public perception. The difference is that the President is tolerant to criticism and alternative views. The governor recently said I’m in the habit of criticising him because I want to be governor of Kaduna State, that means logically he is now leaking memo to attract popular sympathy and carve an image of ‘a competent alternative’ to Baba. Those who cared to know about my little history know that I don’t call a spade a pestle or a spoon. The governor always recommended that our party should punish me for criticising him; now that he has fired a cruise missile at the President through a deliberately leaked memo, he should also be treated same. If our able party chair will give me five strokes of the cane for speaking out, the governor should be given thrice of that for “leaking out. It’s often said that look at the message and not the messenger, but there are times that you can only decipher the message by looking at the messenger.”Senator Shehu Sani who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the senate, has reacted to the controversial memo governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state sent to President Buhari in September last year, where he listed some of the faults of the Buhari-led administration.

Adultery scandal: Why we won’t investigate Suleman – CAN

Adultery scandal: Why we won’t investigate Suleman – CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria has explained why it would not react to the allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide by one Stephanie Otobo.

The Christian body said its concerned was on denominational issues and not personal ones, under which Suleman’s case fell.

Otobo had accused Suleman of illegal procurement of abortion, threat to life, and attempted murder.

A Christian group, Concerned Christians had called on CAN to investigate the allegations to find out the truth.

However, the CAN said it had no right intrude into someone’s private life.

Punch quoted a source as saying that, “CAN provides an umbrella for Christian denominations and it is a bridge between the church and the nation, not between individuals. This issue has to do with individuals, ethics and morals. So it is the denomination that Suleman directly subscribes to that should look into it and not CAN.

“The CAN cannot be involved. What is happening is not an official issue. It is a personal issue. The man has denied the allegations made by the lady, but she insists and we are told that their lawyers and the appropriate authorities are already involved. If it was a matter that had to do with the church now, we would have waded into it. You will be aware that when the man was being harassed because of what he preached and said, CAN stepped in. We declared our position on that but this other matter is a little bit complex.

“If CAN comes out to say the man is being persecuted because he is a Christian, people might say that we are defending what is not defendable, and that the matter is immoral. Also, we don’t have an investigative department that deals with that in CAN. But if he is with the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, then the body can investigate the matter. CAN is an umbrella body for denominational blocs and not for individual Christians per se.”

Biafra: We have reached point of no return – MASSOB Protest

Factional leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Comrade Uchenna Madu has declared that they have “reached a point of no return”, in their quest for the state of Biafra.

In an interview with The Nation in Aba, Madu explained that the agitation for Biafra had gone too far to be stopped.

When he was asked whether the group would relent in its agitation, with the Federal Government seemingly addressing some of infrastructural issues in the South East, he replied: “We can’t stop, we have passed that point. Some people think that the agitation for the Sovereign State of Biafra was because of marginalization or infrastructural decay in the eastern region, No! We have passed that.

“We want Biafra, not because our roads are bad, not because Igbo man has not become the President of the country, Nigeria. We want Biafra not because of negligence of service, but we want Biafra because we are Biafrans; we are created Biafrans and we have to exhibit it in all sense of responsibility. We want to restore the ancient kingdom of Biafra as it were before the 1914 amalgamation of Northern and Southern Protectorate.

“Our people have died not because of Igbo Presidency, because of Biafra and the people that were killed in Aba and many other parts of Nigeria were being killed because of Biafra.

“They were not killed because of the bad roads in the southeast, second Niger Bridge or Igbo Presidency or decay in infrastructure, if they like, let them (federal government) fix everything overnight, it won’t make us to stop. We have reached at the point of no return, there is no way we can go back in the struggle for Biafra.”
